Madison River Grayling

Caught this Grayling at the Madison Junction hole below the campground. In addition to the Grayling, we caught Rainbows, Browns, and Mountain Whitefish. This was the hot location, where the Firehole and Gibbon Rivers merge in Yellowstone National Park.

  1. There shouldn't be Grayling at the confluence of the Gibbon and Firehole where the Madison begins. But, fly-fishing always has its surprises. My first ever Grayling.

  2. Nice Grayling, probally came down the Gibbon. There are Graylings near the headwaters. Was it early in the season?
