Hat Creek, CA Fly Fishing Report **October 3, 2010**
Fly Fishing Report Submitted by: Sean Wallentine
Location: Hat Creek, CA
Details: Fished near the headwaters on October 2, 2010, with friend Christian Hill from Colorado. We spent about 3 hours fishing dries with nymph droppers and also used an indicator with two nymphs. I caught 9 fish: 6 browns, 2 brook trout and 1 rainbow. The weather was perfect: no wind, and 75 degrees. Hat Creek is a splendid fishery and just about as beautiful as a creek can possibly be.

# of Fish Caught: 30
Species: All Rainbows
Size: Biggest was 10" (several of those)
Effective Flies: #10 Rubber Legged/Parachute/Orange Body Stimulator; #16 Silver Copper John; #16 Brassie; #18 Red Copper John
Summary:Fished with my Dad from 1:00PM to about 6:00PM. Water flows were very low but fishing was quite productive. We caught and released 64 beautiful rainbow trout between us. Mostly dry takes, but caught a bunch on the dropper as well. We were the only fisherman on the water. The wading and moving along the stream can be tough. It's pretty rocky. Watch your step! Great stream. If you go please catch and release!
